Jason Buckland will join as aviation director, providing strategic leadership across its UK and European aviation portfolio. Buckland brings extensive sector experience, including leadership roles in airline operations, airport planning and consultancy, and will support major clients such as Heathrow Airport and Manchester Airports Group.

And in an internal promotion, Kim Yates has been named sustainable aviation and green ports market lead, focusing on sustainability and decarbonisation across the aviation and maritime sectors. Yates has more than 25 years of experience in delivering sustainability strategies in transport and infrastructure, including work supporting Heathrow’s 2050 net‑zero programme.

Richard Cusworth, managing director for aviation, maritime and offshore in the UK and Europe, said the appointments bring “exceptional depth of experience” to the business and will enhance Mott MacDonald’s ability to support clients on complex challenges spanning operations, regulation and environmental performance.

Mott MacDonald says the appointment are designed to help it respond to evolving industry needs, including infrastructure development, decarbonisation pathways and regulatory change, as aviation and ports sectors seek to balance growth with environmental commitments.
