Heathrow

Gatwick Airport

Bristol Airport
Bristol Airport serves as a pivotal gateway for South West England, connecting the region to domestic and international destinations. The airport is owned in large part by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Under leadership committed to sustainability, it has launched a £400 million transformation programme to upgrade facilities, enhance customer experience and pursue net-zero operations by 2030.
Birmingham Airport
In 2024, Birmingham Airport (BHX) served 12.8 million passengers, making it the UK’s seventh largest airport. Around 35 airlines operate from BHX, offering over 140 direct and 657 onward destinations. Its 2025–26 capital investment plan totals £76.5 million – around £1.5 million spent each week on asset replacement, capacity growth and environmental improvements. Within a 60-minute catchment, 12.3 million people can access the airport. BHX is one of the West Midlands’ largest employers, supporting 30,900 jobs and contributing £1.5 billion in GVA to the regional economy. By 2033, passenger numbers are expected to exceed 18 million, increasing GVA to £2.1 billion and supporting 34,000 jobs. The airport aims to become a net zero carbon operation by 2033. BHX is one of the best-connected UK airports, with direct rail access and future links via Sprint rapid transit, a metro extension and HS2, cutting London travel time to 37 minutes.
