Tim Walder confirmed as new chair of British Aviation Group in board vote
The British Aviation Group (BAG) has confirmed Tim Walder as its new chair for a two-year term, succeeding Matthew Butters. BAG also announced that Jane Thompson and Alan Corner will serve as deputy chairs.
Walder is founder of TWW Solutions, having within the last year retired as aviation sector lead and senior director at Arcadis after more than 40 years’ experience across the aviation, infrastructure, and consulting sectors.
The full BAG board is now made up of Walder as chair, together with vice vhair Matthew Butters (Pascall+Watson), deputies Jane Thompson (ICF) and Alan Corner (Egis), and re-elected and new members including Andy Clarke (Mott MacDonald), Rachel Gardner-Poole (Aviascia), Kat Leppard (Corgan), Nicky Wright (Gardiner & Theobald), Emeka Okorocha (iStrat Consulting), and Simon Wilcox (Wordsworth Consulting).
In his first remarks as chair and speaking at the recent BAG annual meeting, Walder said, “I am grateful that we retain the experience and insight of Matthew Butters as vice chair, and we are fortunate to have such a dedicated and well-organised secretariat team supporting us. My congratulations also go to Jane Thompson and Alan Corner on their appointments as deputy chairs.
“With this new group of board members, we have significantly strengthened an already exceptional pool of talent while further broadening the diversity of skills and culture within BAG. I am truly excited about the future and confident that, together, we can build on the great work of the BAG board to become an even stronger and more influential organisation than ever before.
“I look forward to working closely with the board, and our members and stakeholders, to build on the strong foundations already in place and to help guide BAG through the opportunities and challenges ahead. Together, I am confident we will continue to strengthen our sector and create lasting value for our members.”
