MAG posts strong half-year performance and continues major investment programme
Manchester Airport Group (MAG) has published its half-year financial results for the six months ended 30 September 2025, showing growth in passenger volumes and revenues, alongside sustained investment in its airport infrastructure

Across the group’s airports, Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands, MAG reported passenger numbers of 38m, a modest increase from 37.3m in the same period last year, Total revenue rose to £850.6 million, while adjusted EBITDA reached £405.3 million. Operating profit (before adjusted items) reached £267.3m, while profit before tax stood at £217.5m.
Highlights across the portfolio include
The busiest summer period in its history for Manchester Airport which handled 18.5m passengers between April and September and breaking through the 31 million passengers a year barrier for the first time.
A record breaking six months saw London Stansted serve 16.8m passengers, an increase of 0.6% on the same period last year.
Celebrating its 60th year of operation, as the UK's largest pure freight operation, East Midlands Airport handled more than 201,000 tonnes of cargo between April and September. This was a significant increase of 9.7% compared to last year.
MAG also reaffirmed its commitment to a major multi-year investment programme of approximately £2.5bn over the next five years.
This includes completion of the 10-year transformation at Manchester Airport, along developments at London Stansted Airport, and cargo-focused enhancements at East Midlands Airport.
MAG maintains a strong liquidity position, with £237.3m in retained cash and fully undrawn committed credit facilities, underpinning the delivery of its investment plans.
Chief Executive Officer Ken O’Toole said the half-year performance reflected “the strength of our airport network and the benefits of continued investment,” emphasising the group’s commitment to modernising infrastructure while enhancing passenger experience across its UK airports.
