Ian Elston
Deputy Director of Airspace, Airport, Resilience and Connectivity, Department for Transport
Ian has worked in the Department for Transport’s Aviation Directorate for 15 years. He leads the UK’s airspace modernisation programme, including the establishment of the UK Airspace Design Service and updates to the Air Navigation Guidance and Directions. His responsibilities also include airspace planning to support Heathrow’s proposed third runway, the integration of emerging airspace users, international air service agreements, airport policy and aviation resilience.
