Shakir has 30 plus years’ experience in the Aviation Sector and is the Airport Sector Director for the UK, Ireland and Europe at Egis, leading strategic growth and advisory services across the aviation sector. With extensive experience in airport planning, infrastructure development, capital investment programmes, and aviation strategy, he works with airports, governments, investors, and industry stakeholders to deliver sustainable and commercially successful aviation solutions. Shakir has supported major airport developments across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia, helping clients navigate complex challenges related to capacity growth, decarbonisation, operational resilience, and long-term master planning. Shakir is also a specialist transport advisor to the Department of Business Innovation Science and Trade (DBIST) and the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) on all UK Free Trade Agreements. Shakir is also a Board Member of the British Aviation Group.
